Collection: 不染 | Untainted

不染 | Untainted

Untainted like the Lotus

In a philosophical or spiritual sense, 不染 conveys the idea of remaining pure, untainted, or not swayed by external influences. It often appears in Buddhist and Taoist teachings, where it represents a state of inner peace and detachment from worldly desires or troubles.

  • (bù) : "not" or "without"
  • (rǎn) : "to dye," "to stain," or "to be contaminated"

The lotus has long been a symbol of integrity and inner peace —rising from the mud yet remaining untainted.

The ancient Chinese poet Zhou Dunyi wrote:
“出淤泥而不染”“It emerges from the muddy water yet remains unstained.”

This collection is inspired by that timeless wisdom: to stay true to yourself, untouched by external chaos, and to move through life with clarity, strength, and effortless grace—just like the lotus.
